This was our first year at the BYTF - a festival that celebrates Youth Theatre organised by the National Association of Youth Theatres. The event is held at Gilwell Park in Essex (The Scouting Headquarters) and consists of loads of workshops to take advantage of and heaps of performances by other Youth Groups and professional performers. Everyone camps and prays for great weather - which we had. It runs from Thursday - Sunday in July and the atmosphere is amazing. Evenings are spent watching performances, socialising around the site or dancing in one of the dance marquees. We loved every minute....
"hello, well for me BYTf was one of the best experiences i've had. it really was amazing. The relaxed atmosphere meant no-body was under pressure to do anything they didn't want to and as ellie proved on the last morning, you could indeed stay in bed way after everyone else had got up if u choose to. Also everyone was so friendly and you could easliy go up and start a convo with someone you'd never met before (or if you scarlet give thema great big hug). Despite the lack of sleep i had, it really was a fantastic experience that will only be truly understoood by those who went there. I made loads of friends, who i miss deeply and cannot wait for next year!"
